Creating a Shift

When we are breathing consciously and building erotic energy, our breath often becomes quite musical, a symphony of inhales and exhales, moans and sighs, excitement and relief. As our breathing skills develop, we can use the breath to guide our erotic journey, creating peaks and climaxes as well as periods of relaxation and savoring. Conscious breathing floods our bloodstream with oxygen, nourishing every cell of our bodies, awakening sensation and fueling our erotic fires.

The Big Draw is a twenty-second clenching of the musculature of the entire body while holding the breath. This is a technique traditionally used at the end of an erotic massage; it offers an orgasmic experience without ejaculation. However, the Big Draw can be used at any time during your massage, whenever you wish to create a shift. The Big Draw facilitates a rapid transition from one state to another.

After a half-hour or more of genital stimulation and conscious breathing, the receiver begins the Big Draw by taking three deep, full breaths. After these three breaths, they inhale one more time and then hold the breath while clenching the musculature of their body, especially their pelvic and gluteal muscles. Slightly lifting the head and feet helps with this tightening of the muscles. After constricting the muscles and holding the breath for twenty seconds, the receiver lets go and relaxes, savoring the sensations that arise. Immediately after the Big Draw, the masseur will sometimes cover the receiver in a blanket or sheet and then step away, allowing the receiver to just be.

It is quite common for people to have visionary experiences, or what we call “somatic openings,” after the Big Draw. For some, the experience is profoundly spiritual or religious. For others, they connect with intimates and relatives no longer in the world. A feeling of Oneness with everything is quite common and there is often a clarity about important decisions. After the Big Draw is a time for the receiver to “install” their Taoist Erotic Massage experience, so that they can fully benefit from and make use of this experience in the future.
